Planning

Haringey Heartlands is a regeneration scheme for the industrial area behind Wood Green, to the east of the railway track.

• The client is National Grid and the London Development Agency, not Haringey Council.
• Outline planning permission for phase 1 of the development to be submitted in early 2008.
• Comprises of high density residential units (3-8 stories high) to the south and mixed retail in the centre - possibly with a piazza. Density would be about 700 people per hectare.
• Parking is proposed to be undercroft parking. There is potential for roof top garden/allotments.
• A spine road connecting Hornsey Park Road to Station Road has already been approved.
• At the moment the gas tanks are not being retained. A local group is keen that they are preserved.
