Welcome to the New River Village Residents' Association website. We are here to give residents a place to voice their opinions, find help for any problems, and to get in touch with other residents who care about the same issues. Below, you will find the most recent issues and facts of interest. This front page is only the tip of the ice berg. To see what the residents really feel about these and other issues, head on over to the Forum.
Hornsey Carnival takes place this weekend. Carters Steam Fair returns to Priory Park July 4th-6th 2008. And on Saturday 5th July there will be a procession at 2.30pm, and St Mary's Church Tower will be open to the public from 2.00 - 5.30pm.
There is a petition that you should have received in your post box recently. To add weight to our arguments we would like you to complete the detail and return the form to the concierge (c/o NRVRA Committee) or flat 42 Hudson no later than Friday 20th June. Even if you have already put an objection to Haringey Council, please do complete the form and return it.
If you did not receive a petition, or have lost it etc, then you can download it as a pdf file here.
Even though the original deadline for comments was Tuesday 10th June there has been an extension for Fyfe, Kinnear and Judd only (and the Residents' Association) to 25th June which is why we can stil get this in on time.
There is a series of planning applications requesting comments about changes to the commercials units on the ground floor of Fyfe building. This was going to be a GP surgery, a juice bar and a small creche in the origianl NRV planning section 106 aggreement.
However now St James wants to sell off the entire floor to kids unlimited for use as a private creche. This involves adding a large enclosed play area, 6 car drop off bays and large totem advertising signs.
Any objections need to be sent to Haringey Council by 10th June 2008 (next Tuesday) to be considered by the planning committee. You can do this online by clicking the "comment on applciation" button on the applications HGY/2008/1041, HGY/2008/1042 and HGY/2008/1044.
There is a discussion about this on the forum and we have started to collate some information and the arguments against the planning application on the wiki.
If you are looking for any information concerning New River Village then you will probably find the information you are looking for on the wiki. Of particular interest is probably the planning section.
